Minutes of the Monthly Meeting of the Town of Webster Board of Supervisors,

April 17, 2007

 

 

1.  Call to Order:  Chairman Skip Oliphant called the monthly board meeting to order at 6:30 PM with all members present.  A total of 10 people were in attendance.

 

2.  Pledge of Allegiance:  The Board led the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

3.  Proof of Posting:  Clerk Yttri gave proof of proper posting of meeting in two newspapers, at the three posting places, on the Town website and via email for those citizens who have signed up for email notification.

 

4. Adoption of Agenda: Parker moved to adopt the agenda with one addition:  add fuel storage removal at 8.5. Thelen seconded. Motion carried. 

 

5. Minutes of Previous Meetings:  Clerk Yttri provided copies of the minutes of the March 27, 2007 meeting.  One change was noted in Section 7, Building Permits be changed to Adam Jothen as the only applicant.  Parker moved to approve the minutes as printed, seconded by Thelen. Motion carried.

 

6. Review and Payment of Bills:  The current checkbook balance is $16,250.00 and the monthly bills totaled $42,560.70. The Board chose to pay $7,221.00 toward the bills.  Parker moved to approve the payment of bills presented, seconded by Thelen.  Motion carried.

 

7. Review Building Permits:  Adam Hershberger, Richard Swiggum

 

8. Fire Number Applications:  none

 

8.5 Fuel Storage Removal:  A Wis. Dept. of regulation requires that the Town replace both the diesel and gasoline storage tanks with double-wall tanks.  Motion by Thelen to replace the diesel fuel tank (est. cost of $1,330) and remove the gasoline tank and not to replace it at this time because of cost and minimal usage, seconded by Parker.  Motion carried.

 

9. Burning Permits – Rosanne Boyette:  Roseanne asked how many Burning Permits were issued so far this year.  Chairman Oliphant responded that he has given out 12 permits.

 

10. Weight Limit Exemption Permits - Rosanne Boyette:  Roseanne asked how many Weight Limit Permits were issued so far this year.  Chairman Oliphant responded that he has given out 21 permits.

 

11. Patrolman’s Report:  Patching potholes consumed most of Jody’s workload at this time and he has received on-the-job training operating the snow plows during the recent snowfall.

 

12. Public Input:  None

 

13. Board Comments:  Tim Parker thanked the Board for the early meeting time, allowing him to attend a family event.

 

14. Future Meeting Dates:                         

 

      May 5 – Spring Large Item Disposal Day

May 15 -- Monthly Board Meeting, 7 PM

            May 30 – Open Book 2-6 PM and Board of Review 7-9 PM

 

15. Adjourn:  Parker moved to adjourn, seconded by Thelen.  Meeting adjourned.
