Minutes of the Monthly Meeting of the Town of Webster

Board of Supervisors

September 19, 2017



1.  Call to Order:  Chair John Young called the monthly board meeting to order at 7:00 PM with Supervisors, Gordon Nemec, Daniel Arnold, Treasurer Jan Parker and Clerk Ole Yttri were present.  Others in attendance were Patrolmen Tim Walker and Jody Wirts; Lonnie Muller, Episcope newspaper; resident Gene Lyons and Ken Hammond.     


2. Pledge of Allegiance:  The Board led the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance.


3.  Proof of Posting:  Proof of proper posting of meeting and agenda was noted, (Episcope newspaper, at two posting places, on the Town website, and through email for those citizens who have signed up for email notification).


4. Adoption of Agenda: Nemec moved to adopt the agenda, seconded by Arnold.  Motion carried. 


5. Minutes of Previous Meetings:  The minutes of the August 15 meeting was presented.  Arnold moved to adopt the minutes, seconded by Young.  Motion carried. 


6. Review and Payment of Bills:  The current checkbook balance is $147,732.84 with the monthly bills total is $68,344.46.  Young moved to pay bills, seconded by Nemec.  Motion carried. 


7. Review Building Permits:  none

8. Fire/Road # Applications:  none


9. Update FEMA Process Flood Damage Repairs on Town Roads: 

            -Duck Creek update—The VC Highway Dept. has completed the replacement of the culverts on the road.


10. E. Bloomingdale Rd Beaver Damage Issues: The patrolmen continue to remove debie to keep the culverts open.


11. Fall Large Item Clean-up Options:  There will not have a fall clean-up day this year.  The spring dates are more productive with the clean-up material.  Residents will be reminded that large items can be taken to the VC Landfill site for disposal.


12. Sand Shed Repair Plan:  Board member, Daniel Arnold is supervising the project.  Janson Concrete has the pillars and walls poured and the board is discussing pro and cons on the floor portion.  Melvin Miller will continue the rebuild the walls and roof.


13. Patrolmen’s Report:  The patrolmen discussed signage on different roads.  Wirts has graded the repaired roads and will rip up bottom portion of Tunnelville road.


14. Public Input:  Ken Hammand, S. Elk Run Rd resident, discussed the plugged culvert near his property.  The board will Thursday, September 21 at 8:00 AM at his location review his concerns.


15. Board Comments:  Young informed the board of the upcoming La Farge EMS and Fire Dept. Asso. Annual meeting on October 12 at 7:00 and 8:00 PM.


16. Future Meeting Dates:


October 17 -- Monthly Board Meeting, 7:00 PM


17. Adjourn:  Nemec moved to adjourn, seconded by Young.  Meeting adjourned.
