Minutes of the Monthly Meeting of the Town of Webster

Board of Supervisors

January 17, 2012

 

 

1.  Call to Order:  Chair John Young called the monthly board meeting to order at 7:00 PM with Supervisors Art Thelen, Linda Kennedy, Treasurer Jan Parker, and Clerk Ole Yttri present.  A total of 11 people were in attendance.

 

2. Pledge of Allegiance:  The Board led the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

3.  Proof of Posting:  Clerk Yttri gave proof of proper posting of meeting and agenda, (two newspapers, at the three posting places, on the Town website and through email for those citizens who have signed up for email notification).

 

4. Adoption of Agenda: Thelen moved to adopt the agenda, seconded by Kennedy.  Motion carried.

 

5. Minutes of Previous Meetings:  Clerk Yttri presented the minutes of the December 20, 2011 meeting.  Young moved to adopt the minutes, seconded by Thelen.  Motion carried. 

 

6. Review and Payment of Bills:  The current checkbook balance is $318,248.19 and the monthly bills total is $10,411.87.  Thelen made a motion to pay the bills and pay off loan # 26637, $19,289.00, (2008 TRIP loan) and $10,711 toward loan # 24982( 2005 Truck loan), seconded by Kennedy.  Motion carried. 

 

7. Review Building Permits: none

8. Fire Number Applications: none

 

9.  Transportation Committee:  Daniel Arnold reported that the committee discussed labor needs, guard rail options on Bloomingdale Rd and sealcoating plans for this year.

 

10. Command Central Maintenance Agreement: Motion by Young, seconded by Thelen to renew the agreement for the balance of this year for $204.17. Motion carried.

 

11. Dist. Meeting in Richland Center, 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM:  The Clerk will submit payment for all the town board members to attend this WTA District meeting in Richland Center on Feb. 17th at a cost of $40.00 each plus mileage.

 

12. 2012 General Transportation Aid Payment:  The board discussed the reduced payment for this year due to filing deadlines.

 

13. Patrolmen’s Report:  Patrolman Hysel stated that he has recovered from a fall off the truck during an ice storm.  He thanked Wirts, Young and Carl Haugrud for their assistance during his recovery.  Fire extinguisher inspection has been completed for the year.  He finished the Wiss-lar Report showing that about 75% of the town roads are in failing conditions.  He moved a cabin from a road right–of-way in Avalanche and placed a concrete block where a guard rail was broken off due to an auto accident.  A radiant heating system has been installed to replace of a failing furnace in the shop area.

16. Future Meeting Dates:

     

      January 26 – WTA meeting in Viroqua, 7:30 PM

      February 17 – Dist. Meeting in Richland Center, 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM

            February 21 – Transportation Committee Meeting, 6:00 PM

      February 21 -- Monthly Board Meeting, 7:00 PM

 

17. Adjourn:  Kennedy moved to adjourn, seconded by Thelen.  Meeting adjourned.
