Minutes of the Monthly Meeting of the Town of Webster Board of Supervisors,

May 17, 2005

 

The Board met with Wayne Haugrud, UDC Building Code Inspector, at 6:30 P.M. to discuss fees and answer questions about various home building project situations and assessing procedures.

 

Chairman Oliphant called monthly board meeting to order at 7:00 PM. A total of 23 people were in attendance including all board members.

 Motion by Parker and seconded by Nemec to approve the minutes as read. Carried.

VOUCHERS:  Discussed vouchers payable.  Motion by Nemec to approve bills for payment except for the balance of the TRIP Project bill from R.L. Widner Constr., seconded by Parker.   Carried.

 

INFORMATION/DISCUSSION:

Discussion was held on the following issues:

 

ACTION TAKEN: 

-     Motion by Nemec, seconded by Parker to award The Kraemer Co. the bid for crushed rock for the season, since they were the only bid received.  Motion carried.

-         Motion by Parker, seconded by Nemec to award Kolby Walker the Town Hall mowing bid for $35 per mowing and Mt. Zion Cemetery mowing bid to Mary Haugrud for $30 per mowing.  Motion carried.

-         Motion by Nemec, seconded by Parker to sand blast the box on the 2001 Truck at the La Farge Truck Center for $1000.  Motion carried.

-         Open Book and Board of Review dates will be postponed until the end of June or July dependent upon the assessor’s schedule.

 

Public Input 

-         There was a second request for the town to enact an ordinance regarding industrial waste burning was again brought up.  It was mentioned that the DNR already has regulations affecting the burning of industrial waste.

-         Posting of meeting notices was explained.

-         Suggestion to add information to the Town’s website, such as the Village Powers Ordinance, current minutes, recycling hours, etc.

-         Suggestion that Town Board should look into the state statutes regarding mobile homes.

-         Town Essay Award applicants have until the end of May to submit entries.

-         Consider adopting a Citation Ordinance and a Nuisance Ordinance to help enforce the UDC law.

 

PATROLMAN’S REPORT: 

Shane reported that they are continuing the brushing and ditching on Parr Road. Shane also requested a cement slab to store seal coat patch mix. He reported that the grader was repaired at a cost of approximately $2000.00

 

MEETING NOTICES: 

 

·        Next Board meeting June 21, 2005, at 7 PM.

·        Large recycling day at the township will be May 21, 2005
