Meeting of the Town of Webster
Board of Supervisors
1. Call to Order: Chair Paul Bader called the monthly board meeting to order at 7:00 PM with Supervisors Daniel Arnold and John Young, Treasurer Jan Parker, and Clerk Ole Yttri present. A total of 14 people were in attendance.
2. Pledge of Allegiance: The Board led the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. Proof of Posting: Clerk Yttri gave proof of proper posting of meeting and agenda, (two newspapers, at the three posting places, on the Town website and through email for those citizens who have signed up for email notification).
4. Adoption of Agenda: Young moved to adopt the agenda, seconded by Arnold. Motion carried.
5. Minutes of Previous Meetings: Clerk Yttri presented the minutes of the June 15, 2010 meeting. Arnold moved to adopt the minutes, seconded by Young. Motion carried.
6. Review and Payment of Bills: The current checkbook balance is $59,127.06 and the monthly bills total is $9,315.82. Young made a motion to pay the bills, seconded by Bader. Motion carried.
7. Review Building Permits: none
8. Fire Number Applications: none
9. Transportation Committee Update: Arnold and Bader have completed the environmental review study for the EAP Grant Project jobs.
10. Hire a Part-time Employee: Motion by Bader, seconded by Arnold to advertize for a limited-term/part-time employee (15-20 hrs. per wk) to assist this fall and next year with grant project work. They plan to interview candidates on August 3. Motion carried.
11. Avalanche Croell Quarry Concerns: Water problems at the quarry from heavy rains have caused washouts along the roadway. The Board will schedule a meeting with County Highway Commissioner, Virgil Hanold to come with a solution to avoid future flooding.
12. Patrolmen’s Report: Patrolmen Hysel and Wirts reported that new culverts were installed on Tunnelville Rd. and Tri-State Rd., gravel placed on Wemmer Hollow and W. Salem Ridge Rds prior to seal coating and trees removed because of storm damage.
13. Public Input: Robert Widner needs a platted street in Avalanche be discontinued to resolve a land ownership issue. Bader stated that a petition needs to be presented to the board to start the street closer project. He will proceed with this solution.
14. Board Comments: Chair Bader stated that the Husker Hollow Rd Bridge will be replaced in 2013 at a cost of $250,000, with the town paying 10% of the cost.
