Minutes of the Monthly Meeting of the Town of Webster

Board of Supervisors

June 15, 2010



1.  Call to Order:  Chair Paul Bader called the monthly board meeting to order at 7:00 PM with Supervisors Daniel Arnold and John Young, Treasurer Jan Parker, and Clerk Ole Yttri present.  A total of 10 people were in attendance.


2. Pledge of Allegiance:  The Board led the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance.


3.  Proof of Posting:  Clerk Yttri gave proof of proper posting of meeting and agenda, (two newspapers, at the three posting places, on the Town website and through email for those citizens who have signed up for email notification).


4. Adoption of Agenda: Bader moved to adopt the agenda, seconded by Arnold.  Motion carried. 


5. Minutes of Previous Meetings:  Clerk Yttri presented the minutes of the May 18, 2010 meeting.  Arnold moved to adopt the minutes, seconded by Young.  Motion carried. 


6. Review and Payment of Bills:  The current checkbook balance is $40,102.16 and the monthly bills total is $4,900.64.  Young made a motion to pay the bills, seconded by Arnold. Motion carried. 


7. Review Building Permits: Reuben Miller & Aaron Troyer

8. Fire Number Applications:  Amber Miller


9.  Transportation Committee Update:  Arnold stated that the committee had recommended the following roads projects with the $90,000 budget:  Wemmer Rd, Tri-State Rd, Salem Ridge by the cemetery, W. Salem Ridge Rd to Smart Hollow Rd and the bottom of Tunnelville Rd.  This work is planned to be completed in July as to not interfere with the EAP Grant Project jobs.


10. Discussion of Dept. of Commerce EAP Grant:  The state has not finalized the contracts and accounting procedures with the grantees and the webinar programs have been postponed for now.  Prevailing wage and Davis Bacon rules need to be followed during this project.


11. Avalanche Store Class A Beer License: Bader moved to adopt the beer license for Amanda Langhre and her sister starting July 1, 2010 as long as their training course and other licenses are in place, seconded by Young.  Motion carried. 


12. Patrolmen’s Report:  Patrolmen Hysel and Wirts reported that the 2008 Flood repair on S. Elk bridge was completed, Hidden Valley bridge repaired, buried a cow for Melvin Miller, built a guard rail Bloomingdale Rd and the windshield on the JD mower tractor was repaired.


13. Public Input: none

14. Board Comments:  Young discussed that the recycling center will need to be open till 3 PM, some residents push the time schedule.


15. Future Meeting Dates:


      July 13– Transportation Committee Meeting, 7:00 PM

      July 20 -- Monthly Board Meeting, 7:00 PM


22. Adjourn:  Young moved to adjourn, seconded by Bader.  Meeting adjourned.
