Minutes of the Monthly Meeting of the Town of Webster Board of Supervisors,

February 14, 2005

 

Chairman Swanson called monthly board meeting to order at 7:00 PM. A total of 35 people were in attendance including all board members.

 

Motion by Nemec and seconded by Widner to approve the minutes as read. Carried.

VOUCHERS:  Discussed vouchers payable. 

Motion by Nemec to approve bills for payment, seconded by Swanson.   Carried. 

Later during the meeting, the yearly Assessor contract for M&A Service was tabled postponing voucher payment.  The voucher for the balance of the manufactured sand received from R.L. Widner Construction was eliminated.

Public Input  - Several items were brought before the board from the town’s residents. 

            They were:  Input was received about Town employees joining a Union.

            Borrowing limits be established on the town board for purchasing equipment.

Amish sawmill operators had concerns being treaded equally as to road weight limit band notification.  It was suggested that the board look at increasing the wages for Election Pole Inspectors.

 

 INFORMATION/DISCUSSION:

Discussion was held on the following issues:

• The loan for the new truck’s attachments will be completed next week.
• Fire # and Building Permit Application form to confirm with the new UDC Building Code was discussed as to the procedure that residents and town board will need to follow.
• Renewal of the Assessor Contract was tabled as to needed clarification if last year’s contract was written for a two-year term.
• The Board renewed the contract with Gunderson Lutheran Hospital Alcohol and Drug Testing Program for town employees that are required by DOT.
• Wages for the Town Clerk and Treasurer were discussed and were tabled until next meeting, so the board could research and compare with other townships. 
• Rural Insurance Co. was contact to add the new truck to the policy.
• Driveway snow plowing will be determined by the patrolmen as they require to have a 14’ road width and a turn around space.
• The Board is adding Wednesday from 3-6 PM to the recycling hours along with the full day on Saturday 9AM—3PM.

ACTION TAKEN:  No action was voted on

PATROLMAN’S REPORT: 

Shane reported that equipment is in good working order with no problems.
