Minutes of the Monthly Meeting of the Town of Webster Board of Supervisors,

November 20, 2007

 

1.  Call to Order:  Chair Skip Oliphant called the monthly board meeting to order at 6:30 PM with all members present.  A total of 10 people were in attendance.

 

2.  Pledge of Allegiance:  The Board led the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

3.  Proof of Posting:  Clerk Yttri gave proof of proper posting of meeting in two newspapers, at the two posting places, on the Town website and via email for those citizens who have signed up for email notification.

 

4. Adoption of Agenda: Parker moved to adopt the agenda, seconded by Thelen. Motion carried. 

 

5. Minutes of Previous Meetings:  Clerk Yttri presented the minutes of the October 16, 2007 meeting.  Thelen moved to approve the minutes as printed with corrections to # 14: Future Meeting Dates for the Annual La Farge Ambulance/Fire Dept Meeting and Vernon County Unit WTA meeting were written to be held in November 23 & 25; instead, they were held on October 23 & 25, seconded by Parker. Motion carried.

 

6. Review and Payment of Bills:  The current checkbook balance is $98,074.54 and the monthly bills totaled $22,041.79. Thelen made a motion to pay $21,221.79 toward the bills, pay off the short term operating loan on $10,000 plus interest and to have the Clerk check on the details of the Lepke Trucking & Exc. bill, seconded by Parker. Motion carried. Chair Oliphant reported that a $150,000 loan for flood repair costs was borrowed from the La Farge State Bank. 

 

7. Review Building Permits:  Kenneth Schuttemeyer

8. Fire Number Applications:  none

 

9. FEMA Update Flood Damage: Chairman Oliphant stated that FEMA will pay $125,301.87 toward the August flood expenses and approximately $47,000 for the balance of repairs that will completed next Spring.   The Board did question the accuracy of the cost estimate details; Chair Oliphant will follow-up on this.

 

10. La Farge Bank update:  Treasurer Parker asked the Board to transfer the Mt. Zion Cemetery Savings account of $451.54 to the checking account since that account has not been used for several years and the Town maintains the cemetery and also change the checking account to an interest bearing account.  Thelen made a motion for the recommendation, seconded by Parker.

 

 

11. Patrolman’s Report:  Patrolman Jody Wirts reported that Brandon Hysel was hired as the new Patrolman, Kermit Parker assisted the Town by mowing all the road banks, one sander was put on the truck, and most of the roads are winter ready.

 

12. Public Input:  Rosaane Boyette asked that the Clerk post on the Web site the Plan Commission members and check on some web-site problems.

 

13. Board Comments:  Chairman Oliphant stated that the Wednesday Recycling Center hours are closed for the Winter months, and he reminded residents the Town will no longer snow plow driveways.

 

14. Future Meeting Dates:

           

December 18 -- Monthly Board Meeting, 6:30 PM

 

15. Adjourn:  Thelen moved to adjourn, seconded by Parker.  Meeting adjourned.
